The annual QS World University Rankings by Subjects was released in March, and this year, over 70% of the top 100 universities that specialise in Materials Science are Thermo-Calc users. Thermo-Calc Software have long supported universities and we are proud to see that so many of our users are being recognised as top Materials Science Programs.
The annual QS World University Rankings by Subjects, published by British Quacquarelli Symonds every March, ranks universities around the world in 46 subjects, including Materials Science. Rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. QS also publish a list of the top universities in the world overall every September, which also includes many Thermo-Calc users.
As Material Science programs are increasingly integrating ICME (Integrated Computational Materials Engineering) methodology courses into their curriculum, Thermo-Calc Software provide support to help universities access the necessary tools and learn how to use and teach them. We offer an educational package for undergraduate level materials science courses, which includes a demonstration version of our software along with teaching materials and problems for students, available for free on our website. We also support several summer school programs through teaching, sponsorship and providing free versions of our software and databases. Approximately half of Thermo-Calc users are universities, and we value our partnership with these institutions and are proud to support them.
Congratulations to all of the universities who made the 2017 list.
